Overview
Event Management is an exciting and dynamic profession. It involves conceptualising, planning, organising and finally executing an event, and involves a range of activities from marketing and PR to project management.
This course provides students with a relevant qualification to progress into a rapidly expanding industry. It has been designed in consultation with organisations involved in the industry and offers guest lecturers, site visits and the opportunity to get involved in real projects.
Assessment is through a combination of coursework, practical work, presentations and examinations.

What is included in your tuition fees
At UCS your tuition fees provide access to all the usual teaching and learning facilities that you would expect. However, there may be additional costs associated with your course that you will need to budget for.

For Suffolk One students
Suffolk One National Diploma in Hotel Management
Students who successfully complete and gain the required UCAS Tariff Points on the Extended National Diploma in Hotel Management at Suffolk One (Learning Centre for 16-19 year olds) can progress directly on to the UCS BA (Hons) Hospitality Management, the BA (Hons) Tourism Management and Hospitality Management or the BA (Hons) Event Management degrees.
Opportunities on completion of the course
Opportunities in event management exist in areas such as hotels, commercial companies, promotional companies, local councils, nightclubs, bars and restaurants, outdoor activity organisations, public attractions and charities.

Enrolling on and being a part of the Event, Leisure and Tourism Management course at UCS enabled me to follow my chosen career path. The guidance and support I received whilst studying was amazing, the lecturers and tutors were always there to ensure you worked to your full potential, whilst the librarians were always available to assist with research issues.
The course covered a wide aspect of modules, from Marketing to Finance, Project Management to Outdoor Management, and enables students to understand the full extent of the sector through both academic learning and work experience alongside these modules.
Throughout the course, there is a vast variety of volunteer and work experience roles available which enabled me to secure my first job in the sector fairly quickly after my course had ended. The tutors were always available to help with applications, and point you in the right direction of a role that would suit you best.
There is many different routes that are available through the completion of this course, from business and corporate hospitality, to charity fundraising, there is endless opportunities available once all the studying is completed, and you can finally call yourself ... a GRADUATE!
I have thoroughly enjoyed my years at UCS, and have made some lifelong friends and created some fantastic memories that will stay with me for years to come.
