University of East Anglia: a UCS founding institution

The University of East Anglia, established 1963, has an international reputation for teaching and research across a wide range of subjects. As one of Britain’s premier research institutions, students benefit through being taught by academics at the forefront of their subject.

The University has four faculties comprising of a total of 23 schools of study. The schools cover a range of subjects across the sciences, arts and humanities, social sciences and health disciplines and include professional studies such as teaching, medicine and law.

Located in 320 acres of beautiful parkland, and just three miles from the centre of Norwich, the campus offers modern accommodation, sporting, social and cultural services on a single site. 

The campus is a safe, friendly environment with a strong sense of community. It actively embraces students from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures including around 2,500 non UK students from over 100 countries.

University of East Anglia The University has expanded significantly in that last decade with new teaching facilities, student accommodation and an expanded library. The £17.5 million Sportspark is consistently ranked as having the best student sports facilities in the country, and includes a fitness centre, 50m swimming pool, climbing wall, squash courts, multi-functional sports hall and 40 acres of outdoor multi-purpose pitches. In addition, the Students' Union is one of the most active in the UK and has over 100 student societies and clubs and one of the best live music venues in the region. 

The 2008 National Student Survey results confirmed that the University is bettered only by Cambridge and on a par with Oxford, among mainstream English universities with a 92% level of overall student satisfaction. The ringing endorsement of their courses is mirrored by a top 25 ranking in The Times University Guide and being shortlisted for "Best Student Experience" in the Times Higher Education Awards 2008.
