Welcome to the UCS School of Health, Science and Social Care. Our Head of School is Brendon Noble |who leads the team as the key provider of professional healthcare courses across Suffolk and Great Yarmouth and works closely with employers, the NHS locally and regionally, local government and other not-for-profit organisations, key stakeholders and industrial partners as well as the Suffolk County Welfare Group. The emphasis is always on the employability of graduating students.

This programme area offers Masters degrees, Honours degrees and Higher Education Diplomas in a range of health, science and social work related courses. The programme area has team of enthusiastic senior lecturers and lecturers who work hard to ensure that the right students study the right course for their development. Students graduating from the Programme Area are highly satisfied with their experience.

Radiography, Science and Operating Department Practice
Programme Area Director – Claire Webb|
This programme area is very proud of its reputation as a provider of trained diagnostic and therapeutic radiographers for the NHS in the East of England and beyond. These students access placements in major hospitals across East Anglia and receive high quality support whilst developing their levels of professional competence. The programme area also trains Operating Department Practitioners (ODP) for the NHS and has excellent partnerships with Ipswich, West Suffolk and Nuffield Hospitals who support these students practice experience. Science degrees are also offered with the availability of excellent lab facilities including a new clinical physiology lab with state-of-the-art exercise and physiology testing equipment.
