Rob qualified with a PGCE in 1992 and an MA in Sociology and Cultural Studies in 1997. He is former Course Leader for the BA in Film and Media Studies at UCS and is now joint Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Computer Games Design.
Currently Rob is the External Examiner for the BA in Film Studies at Wolverhampton University.
Rob's specialist teaching areas are in Computer Games and Media Theory. In particular he is interested in the intersection between emerging digital fan culture and the commercial and industrial practices that exploit these new opportunities. In addition he oversees the usability and play testing procedures that students engage in throughout their degree at UCS. In doing this students are receiving direct industrial experience of play testing procedures in association with a local games company.
