Social life at UCS Bury St Edmunds is to be given a boost

A lively group of students have formed an Events and Promotions committee, with plans to bring a new energy to the Bury St Edmunds campus.

Their first move has been the creation of a UCS Bury St Edmunds branded hooded top, which is on sale now to students and staff. Committee member George Reynolds said: "This is a very exciting time for the student community at UCS Bury St Edmunds.

"We have some really interesting ideas that are aimed at improving the social experience for students at the campus such as Fresher's Week, student clubs and events within the local community. The hoodies are one way of creating a sense of community and identity for students at the campus."

The hoodies are selling for an introductory price of £20 until 1 April. After that, they will cost £24. £1 from every hoodie sold will be donated to the Equatorial College School in Uganda, a project which has been supported by West Suffolk College for several years.

All the remaining profits will be used to fund student events at UCS Bury St Edmunds.

George Reynolds said: "The hoodies will be a great keepsake of the days you spent studying at university."
