University Campus Suffolk pilots NHS Core Learning Programmes
Oct 2 2008 2:00PM
University Campus Suffolk (UCS) is delighted to be able to pilot the NHS Core Learning Unit’s e-Learning Programmes within the Faculty of Health, Wellbeing and Science. UCS will be conducting the pilot with both pre-registration Nursing students and also with students on the Health Care Foundation degree.
The e -Learning Programmes, which the students will be focusing on during their modules, will be Infection Control, Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety. The programmes will be accessed from within the students’ current virtual learning environment, and embedded into the modules which the students take in the first part of their course. These three areas were chosen to pilot as they are essential core areas which students cover at the outset of their training, and are already covered with tutorial and clinical skills lab based sessions.
The students will not only participate in e-learning available from the core learning programmes, but also in separate sessions in a more traditional learning style.
It is hoped that the e-Learning Programmes will add extra value to the learning experience of participating UCS students. The students will also again from taking an NHS accredited study course.
