As the beginning of the new term fast approaches the University Campus Suffolk (UCS) Faculty of Health, Wellbeing and Science is celebrating after the announcement that a multi-million pound contract has been signed with the Strategic Health Authority.

The contract means that UCS has inherited a partnership previously developed between the Strategic Health Authority and Suffolk College. UCS will be offering a whole host of courses in the areas of health and wellbeing where students will be taught through a mixture of theoretical and practical sessions in local health care settings and at UCS centres. The agreement between UCS and the Strategic Health Authority means that UCS can develop within these areas and offer students a high quality provision that will prepare them fully for working within the health and social care sector.

Dorothy Kennerley, Executive Dean for the Faculty of Health, Wellbeing and Science said; “We are delighted to have signed this contract and look forward to continuing to offer students a dedicated and professional portfolio of courses. This agreement is a great boost to UCS and I would like to thank all those involved for helping us to achieve this.”

Michelle Gallifent, Head of Education and Development at East of England Multiprofessional Deanery, said “We are committed to developing a strong working relationship with UCS who have an excellent track record of educating and training healthcare professionals. We believe this new contract, provides a superb opportunity to help develop the healthcare workforce that the NHS needs locally”.

Richard Quinton, Director of Finance at UCS said: “We are delighted to have secured a long-term partnership with the Strategic Health Authority this is a great step towards securing the continued success of UCS for many years to come.”
