Apr 11 2007 12:00AM

University Campus Suffolk Otley (UCS) is hosting a student open day at the Otley college site – situated just outside Ipswich - on Thursday 19th April 2007 between 5-8pm.

Representatives from both the Ipswich Campus and the Otley Centre will be on hand to speak to students about the exciting developments that are currently taking place.

Students who want to find out more information relating to the higher education opportunities at UCS Otley, will be given the opportunity of speaking directly with the lecturers who will be teaching the various foundation degree programmes at this event.

Subjects that UCS Otley will be teaching in 2007/08 will be animal management, equine studies, species and ecosystem conservation as well as landscape and garden design.

Information will also be available on student life, finances, facilities and accommodation.

Otley College’s Head of Curriculum, Jenny Milsom, said, “Plans for the new University have developed rapidly over the last 12 months, as has the college, so we feel there is a great synergy between our two organisations that will inevitably benefit HE students who choose to study in Suffolk.”

“This open day will be a chance for students to come and find out about the many opportunities that are on offer as we set about contributing to the cultural, social and economic growth of the county.”

Richard Lister, Director of Planning and Resources for UCS, said, “This is a very exciting stage in our development. This will be our second UCS Otley Open Day -following on from our first event earlier this year – and we are looking forward to showing students around this campus, in anticipation of their arrival later in the year.”
