University Campus Suffolk (UCS) has today revealed the first detailed images of its state-of-the-art building.

Following the release of the high-tech computer generated walk through in May, RMJM architects have been fine-tuning the overall look, feel and specifications of the first UCS building.

The building team have been given the brief to design a £20million-plus landmark building to be completed by 2008, in time to welcome the second intake of students to UCS.

These first images show a realistic image of the waterfront building as seen from the Ipswich marina, computer generated aerial view of the building and the potential view from Fore Street.

Neil Jackson, Capital Programme Manager for UCS said: "This is an exciting stage in the development of University Campus Suffolk and the Ipswich Education Quarter as a whole. These images will further enable us to gauge public opinion and continue to develop the designs for the building. The design will continue to be developed and refined ahead of the University’s planning application for the Waterfront building in September of this year. We think this will be a fantastic new building and these images will give everyone a preview of what will soon be a significant addition to the skyline of the Ipswich Waterfront and Education Quarter."

Mr Jackson added, "The buildings project team have been working closely with local community groups to develop the plans for University Campus Suffolk. Feedback from community group meetings has significantly influenced the building design proposals and will continue to as the development moves forward".
