Many national and international academic institutions make their PhD theses available fore researchers to access either digitally or through paper / fiche loans. References for PhD theses may be found through database searches.
UK Higher Education Institutions - EThOS|
The British Library provides an online catalogue to over 250,000 theses which can be searched for free. From this it may be possible to immediately download and view a thesis, or to request that a digital copy be made available. This service is often free, but if a charge is to be made you will be alerted before you are charged. You must register with EThOS to use the service.
The EThOS service is the starting point for accessing UK theses, and we are unable to contact an institution directly for a loan unless this source has been tried first.
If you are unable to find the thesis you are looking for, you can check to see if the institution is a participating member of the EThOS programme. If not, you can send a speculative request form| to the British Library, and they will check to see if a copy can be made available.
