UCS Mentor Update 2010/11
Welcome to the on-line version of the UCS mentor update for 2010/11. The content of the following pages is derived from the presentation that will be given at mentor update events during the coming academic year. This on-line activity is provided in support of independently determined action by the mentor to meet the requirement for update laid down by the NMC. Mentors using this resource are reminded that the NMC criteria for effective update activity stipulates that mentors should seek out opportunities to discuss issues related to the supervision and assessment of students face-to-face with other mentors. Evidence that you have done this will need to be gathered separately from this on-line exercise and included in your own CPD record.

If you continue with this on-line activity you should be aware that the question paper you complete at the end of the activity, and the details of yourself and your place of work will be supplied to your employer as evidence of your update. Our NHS placement providers have agreed that this evidence of update will be accepted as meeting the criteria to retain a mentor on the local register of mentors if used no more than once in any three-year period.
