University Campus Suffolk is proud to present an exhibition by Russell Walker, Course Leader for BA (Hons) Graphic Design at UCS.
For over 30 years Russell has been producing seductive graphic images and illustrations that often contain characters and lateral ideas on themes as diverse as shopping, sex, pasta and poodles. His strong distinctive style has assured his popularity with advertising, design and publishing agencies across the globe.
He is a regular contributor to the prestigious annual ‘The Best of British Illustration’ and a winner of a Pentagram Award for Illustration. He held his first one man show ‘ Here Boy Go Get It ’ at the Conningsby Gallery, London in Autumn 2000.
‘Friends and Acquaintances’ is a mix of large and small prints that track a career of invention and imagination. Some of the influences and triggers that have sparked the weird and the wonderful are included. Russell says ‘These characters capture either a time or illustrate an emotional attitude experienced through my engagement with literature, the arts and fascinating individuals.’
