refections:nyc

refections:nyc is an exploration of the ‘everyday’ through the airbrushed world of high fashion, Hollywood advertising and strange kind of self-portraiture. With the ‘naïve’ gaze of the tourist, billboards, posters and bus stop adverts are photographed with particular attention paid to the gaze whilst merging with the city skyline, neighborhood objects, the photographer and camera. This body of work follows his recent series New York Pools, which together extend the approach of producing imagery primarily from the position of the ‘distanced’ observer.
