Public Lecture Programme 2011/12

The History team is delighted to announce the following public lectures for 2012:

 

  • Weds 1st Feb, 2pm in W210                                                         Prof. Marion Gibson, (University of Exeter)                       "Thinking with Pagans: Medieval and Early Modern Writers Imagining the British Past''                                                       This event is free but places are limited - to request a place please contact Chloe Sage on c.sage@ucs.ac.uk 

  • Weds 7th March, 2pm in WAD1                                                 Dr John Sutton, (Independent scholar)                                         "Palaces, Horses and Stables: Charles II and Newmarket"


  • 2nd Annual Wolsey Lecture                                                          Tues 24th April, 7pm in WAD1                                                   Dr Phillip Lindley, (University of Leicester)                      "Wolsey: The Great Patron of the Arts and Architecture"

All lectures will take place in the waterfront building.

 

Past speakers have included Prof. Vic Gatrell, Prof. Mike Roper, Prof. Tom Williamson, Dr Sam Newton, Dr John Callow, Ben Gummer MP and Dr John Blatchly.
