The School of Arts and Humanities at UCS is committed to creative and artistic endeavour underpinned by the rigour of scholarship, and the risks and challenges associated with innovation and inspiration. The School’s unique geographical location, where rural and urban landscapes meet, gives rise to new opportunities in response to environmental and technological change. Enquiry, reflection and sharing are key to the philosophy of the School where the students, at the boundaries and edges of location and knowledge discovery, will explore their personal and creative potential and define their futures as enterprising graduates.

Speakers' Corner comes to UCS at Ipswich

2nd year BA (Hons) History students brought a flavour of Hyde Park Corner to UCS Waterfront Building in Ipswich with a public speaking performance based on famous figures and themes associated with the iconic Speaker’s Corner. 

Supported by a lively and encouraging crowd the students’ speeches focused on a diverse range of issues including unemployment, nuclear weapons, Sunday closing law and the rights of women.
