The Arts Building is the base for the School of Arts and Humanities, built in the 1990s it was extensively refurbished in 2009. It houses state of the art facilities for some of the School’s undergraduate degree courses including: Fine Art, Graphic Design, Film, Interior Design and Interior Architecture & Design, Computer Games Design, Dance in the Community and English.
The facilities include a range of studios for Painting and Sculpture with adjacent spaces for Installation and Video. A Drawing Studio, workshops and an exceptionally well-equipped Print Studio enhance the student experience. IT facilities include iMac and Mac Pro Suites as well as specialist IT facilities for Computer Games Design. In addition there is a Film Studio and associated editing suites and two Dance Studios, one equipped with a full lighting rig and sound system.
Room 1 provides a student friendly café serving snacks, meals and drinks. This forms a link between the Arts Building and the East Building where further undergraduate degree courses, Photography and History, are based
