The Graduate School at UCS is central to the organisation and management of Postgraduate Research students. The School establishes protocols and policy for Postgraduate Research students and is responsible for the initial recruitment and induction (in conjunction with the relevant Schools). It monitors the progress of students particularly in terms of Progression Committees and manages the Appeals process, and the organisation of Examinations and Examination Boards.
The Graduate School at UCS delivers Professional Development and Training for all postgraduate students. We aim to provide high-quality events that, alongside current taught sessions, support the development of transferable skills and knowledge. Through these events we encourage interaction between students of different academic disciplines to create a vibrant and supportive postgraduate community.
We will be running a full programme of activities for postgraduate students. This will include practical research skills training, IT skills for research, support for successful research degree study and broader skills including employability training. The full programme will be available on this website in the coming weeks.
