Clinical Placements

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital has a total of 987 beds, 27 wards and 27 operating theatres. The Hospital is a teaching centre in partnership with the UCS, University of East Anglia and the Radiology Academy. The Trust is involved in training AHP’s, Nurses, Medical Students and Radiologists. The proximity to the Norwich Research Park means that research and development will be a key feature of its work.

Diagnostic Radiography

The Hospital has a modern digital imaging department incorporating Plain Film Radiography, Fluoroscopy, MRI, CT imaging, as well as Ultrasound Breast Imaging and RNI. It has a large, busy Accident and Emergency Department, Radiology Interventional Unit, as well as a Cardiac Catheter Lab. The Hospital offers students experience of clinical practice in a busy teaching hospital.

The Trust provides a full range of acute clinical services through the Norfolk and
Norwich University Hospital and Cromer Hospital, including more specialist services such as Oncology and Radiotherapy, Neonatology, Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Rheumatology, Paediatric Medicine and Surgery. The staff, of more than 5,700, treat more than 600,000 people from Norfolk, neighbouring counties and further a field. The patients are referred to by around 100 local GP practices but also from other acute hospitals and primary care trusts around the country. Radiography students undertaking their clinical training at the Hospital will have access to broad clinical experience.
