The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust
The Ipswich Hospital is one of the largest general hospitals in East Anglia and provides acute healthcare services to a growing population of over 400,000 people.
The hospital site occupies a 46 acre site and has approximately 800 beds.
There are many amenities available to staff and students in the hospital, including: day care nursery, sports and social club (based at St Clements Hospital, Foxhall Road), convenience stores, cash point, optician, florist, clothes store, dry cleaning, medical illustration (offering passport photos, film developing, etc), 4 coffee shops/restaurants, medical library, and pharmacy.
The Diagnostic Imaging Department
The Diagnostic Imaging Department employs over 150 members of staff and undertakes 160,000 examinations a year. It is a rapidly developing department with several areas for radiographer advanced practitioning. The services provided are:

The Town of Ipswich
Ipswich is the county town of Suffolk. It sits in rolling countryside that inspired John Constable and has an expansive coastline running to the east, all within easy access.
The town is a vibrant place with theatres, concert halls, cinemas and numerous clubs catering for most tastes, with peace and tranquillity only a five-minute journey away.
The heart of Ipswich is pedestrianised to offer a pleasant shopping experience, and provides easy access to all of the stores, big and small. Students will find a range of well-known department stores, neighboured by smaller shops and boutiques that are full of character.
Ipswich Town Football Club is a family-friendly club and has a large stadium capacity (around 30,000). The club has a long history having won the English League, FA Cup and European Cup. Ipswich has also given the nation England's two most successful managers Sir Alf Ramsey and Sir Bobby Robson, bronze statues of both men stand outside the club stadium on Portman Road.
Ipswich and district caters for many different sports and recreational activities, with numerous sports and swimming centres. A number of excellent golf courses can be visited, there is also a wide choice of marinas and water for sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, etc, both in the sea and beautiful estuaries. Fishing, walking, speedway, swimming and cycling are also popular. An artificial ski slope offers year round practice, whilst ten-pin bowling, roller-skating and kart racing are some of the indoor activities on offer.
London is just over an hour away by train and Stansted Airport is an hours drive.
