Addenbrooke's Radiology Department

Addenbrooke’s has a large radiology department with state-of-the-art equipment. It is an ever expanding and updated department which consists of different areas and rooms which students experience whilst on placement. These include: Outpatients for general radiography, Accident & Emergency, Mobile Radiography, Theatres, Inpatients, Bariums, Magnetic Resonance Scanning (MRI), Computer Tomography Scanning (CT), Ultrasound, Breast Screening, Positron Emission Tomography/CT (PET/CT), Nuclear Medicine, Bone Density, Angiography (Body, Neuro and Cardiac) and Dental.

  • Papworth hospital: Cardio-Thoracic Hospital
  • Bupa Lea: Private Hospital
  • Saffron Walden: Small community Hospital

On-site Student Accommodation

  • Accommodation can be provided in Harston House on the Addenbrooke's Hospital site. This is booked the clinical lecturers and managed by Sanctuary Housing Association costing around £150.00/month but cannot be guaranteed. If necessary students may need to find their own accommodation off-site if this is not available
  • Each private corridor consists of about 12 rooms with a communal kitchen, 2 toilets, 2 bathrooms and a shower room

Getting to Addenbrooke's Hospital

Car: Cambridge is easy to access via the A14 and M11 with Addenbrooke’s being well signposted. There is limited parking on-site but a very close Park and Ride which can be used (Babraham Road)

Train: About 50 mins from London, Cambridge Station, is about three miles from Addenbrooke's with frequent buses (every 10 minutes)from the station (Citi 1) to Addenbrooke's. Rail enquiries Tel: 08457 48 49 50

Bus: Addenbrooke's has its own bus station at the front of the hospital and discounted weekly rider tickets can be purchased from the Access department

Air: Addenbrooke’s is only 20 mins from Stansted Airport
