Overview

These degrees have excellent links with practice across a wide range of specialities. The staff have a wealth of experience in this area and their close links with practice ensures that students are taught new developments as and when they happen. Opportunities for inter-professional learning throughout the degree ensures all students acquire the necessary skills in order for them to be successful in the work place.

Students are required to take responsibility for their own learning, developing the transferable skills which are valuable to any employer. This approach, combined with the knowledge, skills and values developed throughout the degree, make all graduates a competent assistant practitioner or equivalent.

Content and Modules

The degrees are offered over three terms each academic year. Learning takes place primarily in the practice setting with academic delivery in the classroom. The degree consists of core, work-based and profession specific modules.

Practice placements are an integral part of the degree and are an excellent way for students to gain work experience in this area.

Students are assessed using a range of strategies including essays, practice portfolios and oral presentations.

Further Information

These degrees provide opportunities for employment as an assistant practitioner in chosen pathways within the health care sector. Successful graduates will have the knowledge and skills to progress to a professional degree such as a BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or BSc (Hons) Oncology and Radiotherapy Technology at UCS.
