Rationale:
Sports are an integral part of leisure, through a range of participatory activities. These have evolved rapidly through the rise of internet and the arrival of the ‘mega-sport event’, which may used to promote a range of agendas from the private and public sector. This module examines the development of the sports sector through focussing on particular areas such as the global sport event, the involvement of the public sector and stakeholders. It examines the evolving structure of the sports sector and the influences that are causing changes.
