Description
With recent developments in communication technologies, critically analysing digital texts and understanding issues surrounding these texts are integral to the study of English. This module builds on knowledge and theoretical approaches to language and texts developed in the Textual Studies and Critical Language Studies modules.
Students will explore texts produced for digital media, including the internet, analysing the texts themselves as well as critical writings on these emerging media. Addressing digital literacy and new media, this module is relevant to the profession of teaching and for students interested in entering journalism and the creative professions.
