Radiography Podcast Transcript

Narrator: If you have the passion for caring, then come and study Radiography at UCS. Radiography isn’t just about X-Rays, theirs a whole host of other specialities within the field, including ultra-sound, MRI and nuclear medicine.

Radiography Student: I chose Diagnostic Radiography, it’s got a lot of variety and it’s quite technical as far as gaining images is concerned. But it’s all about making a difference with patients because with the images, the key thing about Radiography is the patients. When you work in the NHS, the NHS is only there for the patients so you play an integral part in the patient pathway. You might see them in A&E, you might work with patients with surgeons in theatre and you might go onto wards and X-Ray patients on wards. There is definitely room for more Radiographers, there always will be because the imaging techniques and technologies is moving so rapidly that Radiographers roles are extending in Diagnostic Radiography and Therapy which is the treatment of cancers. So, all that equipment and obviously people are living longer etc, there's always going to be a cry for Radiographers.
