Work Based Midwifery Learning (Open)

Overview

This module aims to:-

  • To provide the student with an opportunity to demonstrate motivation and commitment to midwifery development.
  • To engage in comprehensive enquiry with an identified aspect of their midwifery practice.
  • To extend opportunities for critical self-evaluation.

Where appropriate, to achieve specified competencies in the work place

Content and Modules

What will I study?

There will be an emphasis on practitioners identifying learning content based on their selected development.

Learning agreement formulated between the student and designated member of academic staff for submission to module leader week 5.

How will I be assessed?

Submission of one of the following:

  • Written report relating to a work-base practice situation (without practice competence development) or
  • Case study relating to a work-based practice situation (without practice competence development) or
  • Professional Role Development Portfolio (with evidence of practice competence development)

If you are already registered on a diploma or degree programme it is advisable to inform your course leader that you will be undertaking this module. This will enable your course leader to undertake the vital task of tracking your academic journey.
