(Registration 09.30 – 10.00)
Venue: UCS Waterfront Building, Ipswich
Facilitator: Professor David Weir CCMI
Fellow of the Leadership Trust Foundation,
Head of the School of Business, Leadership and
Enterprise, UCS
We live in “changing time” when the very notion of Public Service is currently under some attack and there seems to be no clear and generally accepted module of the leadership skills that will be required in the new era of a shrinking public sector and a greater emphasis on enterprise, competition and business development.
In this lecture Professor Weir compares the traditional module of Public Service Leadership and enquires what can be built on and what new skills and techniques may need to be learned. We look at models and styles of leadership across a range of sectors including the creative media, the police and military as well as business and enterprise.
