Target Audience:

Nurses, allied health professionals and those with an interest in cancer treatment and care.

 

Aim:

The aim of this session is to give delegates an insight into radiotherapy treatment for head and neck cancer.

 

Outcomes:

By the end of this study day delegates should have knowledge and understanding of:

  • The causes and risk factors contributing to head and neck cancer
  • Radiotherapy treatment and its place within the head and neck cancer patient pathway
  • Radiography technology, planning and treatment techniques related to head and neck cancer
  • Acute and late toxicities related to radiotherapy treatment of head and neck cancer

Preparation for radiotherapy treatment.

Radiotherapy treatment technology & techniques.

Managing radiotherapy toxicities.
