Overview

This module aims to:

  • Enable the practitioner to critically identify their professional contribution to support young people, to maintain or regain their individual, emotional, social and developmental potential.
  • Enable the practitioner to critically review current practice and evaluate the relevance to their practice of research and developments with young people.

Content and Modules

What will I study?

Critical evaluation of research, reflection and a holistic approach to care will be threaded throughout the module:

Philosophies /principles of young people’s services
Challenges to providing services for this client group
Role of the multi-professional team
Frameworks of care delivery
Change management and evaluation process
Communication, interactions/ interventions packages of care

How will I be assessed?

A proposed strategy, referenced and supported by existing research and literature

• A brief literature review as a background to the proposed strategy.

Word Limit: 1,000 words

• A proposed strategy developed to enhance the management of an issue, related to young people in the practitioner’s area of practice.

Word Limit: 3,000 words
The two parts of this assessment will be marked together.


N.B. If you are already registered on a diploma or degree programme it is advisable to inform your course leader that you will be undertaking this module. This will enable your course leader to undertake the vital task of tracking your academic journey.
