Overview
This Masters level module is based upon the principles and application of digital technologies that enhance, develop and advance learning. It provides professionals involved in all aspects of education and training with a critical understanding of the core issues surrounding the effective use of technology in education.
Content and Modules
Content includes exploring drivers behind the adoption of technology in education, including frameworks in use, and their underlying principles. The module will explore current technologies, and will include the practical application of these solutions, with exploration of Web 2.0 applications, virtual simulation, 3D worlds and mobile learning. Other themes addressed in the module are blended learning, disability and access, copyright and data protection, and current and future trends in educational technology.
Through negotiation with the module team, the student will develop a learning object. For example: wiki, podcast, use of Adobe Connect/Presenter, VLE website. The student will then submit a 3,000 word critical evaluation of this object.
