Are there any pre-requisites for this module?
You must be employed in a teaching role, with access to students studying an NMC approved programme, for sufficient hours to enable you to evidence the NMC required 360 hours of practice over 1 year, normally.
You must have received academic advice regarding the appropriateness of this module, and be enrolled on, or have completed, one of the following M level modules: 'Learning and Teaching in Context', 'Assessment in Context', or 'Supporting Practice Learning' before commencing this module.
What are the aims of the module?
This module aims to:

Provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate motivation and commitment to the development of their professional role as a teacher;

Engage in comprehensive enquiry focused to learning, teaching and assessment;

Extend opportunities for critical self-evaluation

Contribute to the achievement of the Nursing and Midwifery Standards to Support Learning and Assessment in Practice for Teachers (2008).

How will I be assessed?
There are two parts:
Part 1: Professional role development portfolio Pass/refer/fail
Part 2: Based on your learning needs analysis and action plan, you will be required to provide a 2000 word critically reflexive account of your development of professional values as a teacher, including critical evaluation of your achievements, and aspects for future professional development 100% weighing
