UCS Community Grant Scheme

Only organisations/persons based in Suffolk and Great Yarmouth are eligible for a UCS grant

The UCS Community Grant scheme has limited funds available each year to give to persons and bodies residing in Suffolk and Great Yarmouth

Grants are mainly awarded for educational or community focused projects or activities and are normally given on a one off basis

The awarding of a grant will normally mean the recognition of UCS on any promotional material relating to the project/activity

 

Grants can be awarded for the following purposes (this list is not exclusive):

  •  Supporting local community events
  •  Supporting the operation of community/charity groups
  •  Support of clubs – with an educational nature
  •  Sports facilities or activities
  •  Special equipment for community groups, schools and colleges
  •  Grants for student activities (community engagement or extra curricular activities)
  •  Promotion of the Arts
  •  Adult education

 

Grants will be not awarded to:

  • Registered businesses or commercial enterprises
  • Students - for educational purposes e.g. to pay for books or trips etc
  • UCS employees for personal or work-based activities*
  • Any illegal or inappropriate activity
  • Any political activity

 

Please note:

Your application will be considered primarily on the answers to the questions on this form and supporting documents provided.

It is a condition of the grant that any organisation working with children and young people, or vulnerable adults, is expected to have the appropriate protection procedures in place.

 

UCS reserves the right to take a reference of an individual or organisation if required.

If awarded, a grant is usually no more than a maximum of £250 and a minimum of £50 and is awarded at the discretion of UCS.

The deadline for applications is 03 January 2012. Successful applicants will be notified by 31 January 2012.

Applications are considered by a panel of UCS employees.

All projects awarded grants must be completed by 31 July 2012.
