UCS launched its first Community Grant Scheme in September 2010 for which six local organisations were awarded grants|. The scheme invites local groups and individuals to bid for small pots of money between £50 - £250 to support local events or activities that benefit members of the community in Suffolk and Great Yarmouth.
Grants are awarded based on the following criteria (this list is not exclusive):

Supporting local community events

Supporting the operation of community/charity groups

Support of clubs – with an educational nature

Sports facilities or activities

Special equipment for community groups, schools and colleges

Grants for student activities (community engagement or extra curricular activities)

Promotion of the Arts

Adult education
The deadline for this year's Community Grant Scheme has now passed. Successful applicants will be notified by 31st January 2012.
