Charles is enjoying a long-standing career in international HR. He operates his company ‘THE CONSULTANCY’ from his base in the Isle of Man. He began his professional life as a soldier, graduating from The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. His military life introduced him to the Middle-East, latterly serving in the Royal Army of Oman. He developed a fascination for the Arab World. Much of his consultancy work is conducted in the Middle-East Region through the International Institute for Research.

He has worked with Toyota in Kuwait as Head of HR & Administration and for Emirates Airlines in Dubai as Head of Management Development. He has experience in both FE and HE and is a former Manager of the University of Bradford Management Centre. He is a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and holds the Society’s Presidential Sword for services to RAeS and aeronautical management training. He is a Civil Service Commissioner for the Isle of Man.

Charles and his Family raise money for military veterans’ charities. To that end he and his daughter Morag have twice completed sponsored treks through the Pyrenees, following WWII escape routes. He is an Honorary Colonel in the Reserve Forces.

Charles sits on various management Boards. He is a Fellow and Vice–President of Institute of Administrative Management.
