Open Events are a great opportunity to find out more about the courses available across UCS, and to view the academic and social facilities. All UCS open events have academics available for one-to-one discussion, and some of the events will also include talks about specific subjects and support.
At each of our Open Events there will be information stands where visitors can find out more about student accommodation, student finance, student support and the admissions process.
Of course you don't have to wait until an open event to get in touch with your queries. If you have a question, the UCS Infozone is the first port of call for both current and prospective student enquiries, so why not get in touch? You can drop in to see them in the UCS Waterfront Building from Monday to Friday, or call 01473 338833.

About our Open Events
UCS Ipswich offers two different types of open events:
Full day events start with a welcome at 11am and feature subject talks, information about student support and finance, and tours of the academic facilities. Normally tours are also offered of the Clinical Skills labs, the Science labs, and the Arts facilities - as well as general campus and accommodation tours. Academics are available throughout the event for informal one-to-one discussion but most visitors will attend subject talks. The first talk will be offered at 11.30am, and talks last around 30mins. Some subjects will offer 'taster' sessions which last up to two hours, and these will be identified on a downloadable programme prior to the event.
Drop-in events are for informal discussions between academics and students interested in studying this September. The majority of subjects with places available in Clearing will have one academic at a desk, ready for discussions with students and their families. Campus and accommodation tours are available. If you are interested in seeing the Science or Art facilities, email schoolsucs.ac.uk and we can ensure those tours are offered.
Open events will start at either 11am or 4pm, with refreshments available. Normally, academics are ready for the starting time but are not usually available until a few minutes before the event opens. You should aim to arrive in time for the event starting, but if you arrive early, you may find that there is very little happening! We always offer free parking for the event and our Student Union cafe, student bar, and the waterfront cafes will be able to offer you a cup of tea or coffee while you wait for the event to start.
