Terry has a background of 12 years’ experience in Human Resource Management in the Electricity and Railway Industries. He subsequently has 21 years’ experience in teaching/ managing programmes for HR professionals. He is the Course Leader for the thriving Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management programme which attracts students from across East Anglia due to its excellent reputation for quality and student success. Terry has taught modules on HRM, Employee Relations and Organisational Behavior on courses such as the BA Business Management and the MBA.
Terry’s first degree was in Business Studies and he has an MSc in Strategic Human Resource Management. He is a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD).
Terry has had articles published in of professional and academic journals. He has undertaken teaching and/or research assignments in China, Germany and the Netherlands. He holds an appointment with ACAS to undertake the role of Arbitrator under the ACAS Individual Arbitration Scheme and he is also a committee member of the CIPD Colchester and Ipswich Group.
He is currently involved in a global research project, looking at HR Professionalism and Ethics, with Partners in Canada, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand. He is also currently undertaking research on the role of HR in supporting sustainable organisations.
