Robert holds a BSc in computer science, the Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Certificate in Management and a PGCE (Information Technology).
He has had a varied career, from the installation and maintenance of radar, telecommunication and computer systems in RN warships to his current role as a lecturer in network technology, project management, statistics and accounting.
Between these roles Robert has:

Designed telecommunications networks for major corporate and public bodies, and been the head of UK marketing for a major business systems manufacturer

On behalf of public telecommunications operators, managed residential and commercial telephony services, led major service change projects and launched pan-European Internet products

Overseen the transfer of wireless technologies between a global manufacturer and a major distributor of personal computers

Held the post of international marketing director for a group of professional imaging companies within a FTSE100 listed PLC
In recent years Robert has moved across to education; starting in secondary education where he headed a school’s IT learning programme, and then transferring into the HE sector.
