Karen graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2003, with an MA (Hons) in Sociology. She worked for the University of Edinburgh as Schools Outreach Officer in the Widening Participation team for over six years. During this time, Karen was also a volunteer Chair for the City of Edinburgh Children's Panel, working with children and young people at risk and in local authority care in the Edinburgh area.
Karen joined UCS in February 2010. Her role is to develop the UCS recruitment stategies in the UK and EU, and to manage schools liaison and student recruitment activity. Karen attends recruitment events in the UK and Europe, and works closely with colleagues across UCS and the Learning Network
