John joined UCS in 2010 from Keele University where he worked in a similar role for 10 years. His job is to assist international students with every aspect of their stay at UCS and to advise staff on issues such as internationalisation of teaching and curriculum.
John's background is languages with a degree in Japanese and a masters in Linguistics with a focus on sociolinguistics and cross-cultural communications. He studied and conducted research at four universities in the UK and Japan, and lived and worked in Asia for 12 years before retuning to the UK.
