Academic Development

Christine graduated as a radiographer, carried out early development work on ultrasound imaging and after clinical practice became a Lecturer and then Principal of the East Anglian College of Radiography. She led the development of the first degree and Masters degree in radiography in the UK and was a member of the UK State Registration body - the Health Professions Council, the Council for National Academic Awards and national professional body committees. She researched and published work in the area of radiography education with extensive work across the EU.

Following integration of health professional education into Suffolk College, Christine became Dean of Health and ultimately Assistant Principal (Higher Education) managing all Higher Education. After a successful period of growth and significant expansion of Higher Education provision she worked on the next stage of developing a University in Suffolk. Externally she continued her national roles and research, became a reviewer for the Quality Assurance Agency and undertook work on the development of Foundation Degrees resulting in an invitation to 10 Downing Street.

Following the establishment of UCS Christine has been Executive Dean (Academic Development) which includes a broad range of areas including Quality, Teaching and Learning, Registry, Student Services, Learning Resources, Library and Learning Development. She chairs a number of Committees and is Vice Chair of Academic Board. Externally Christine is active in a number of networks and has recently become part of the HEFCE Disability policy making group.
