Dr Ann Williams, Principal, West Suffolk College, Learning Network Representative

Ann Williams started to work at West Suffolk College in 1979 as a part time lecturer while completing her PhD in Parasitology from the University of London.  She joined the full time teaching team in 1981 and soon became a staff trainer and curriculum manager leading on student centred learning methods. She has been a member of the Senior Management team since the mid eighties, being Vice Principal responsible for Curriculum and Quality and has now been Principal since 2002. She is passionate about providing excellent quality learning for the community and employers and cites some of her most challenging and rewarding teaching experiences when teaching students with emotional and learning difficulties.

West Suffolk College is a Beacon College; it is in the top 10% of College performance nationally, something which Ann is incredibly proud. She is on the West Suffolk Strategic Partnership Board, and the Association of Colleges in the Eastern Region Board.

West Suffolk College is the largest network provider of UCS students and Ann is currently planning a significant refurbishment of the campus for HE students and a new build for FE students.
