Brian Summers joined University of East Anglia as Registrar and Secretary in October 1999 from Oxford Brookes University where he was a Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Corporate Services) and part of the Executive Team. He had responsibility for all its administrative departments.
At UEA, Brian is a member of the Executive Team (ET) reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor leading on financial and physical resources and on planning and resource allocation systems and procedures. He works closely with ET colleagues on the University’s corporate planning and strategic development. Brian is responsible for all governance matters and acts as secretary of the governing body. He has overall management of administrative services and leadership of the Administration and of its team of Divisional Heads in the provision of cost-effective, high quality, customer-oriented support to the University’s academic objectives.
Brian is a graduate of Exeter University where he achieved his BSc in Chemistry. He has three children and lives in Norfolk where he indulges in his passion for flying.
