Conference to ensure the voice of local business is heard

Jan 24 2012 1:40PM

University Campus Suffolk’s (UCS) School of Business, Enterprise and Leadership has arranged a special conference to engage local businesses with the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership| (LEP) Green Economy Pathfinder. T his breakfast conference at Trinity Park provides an ideal opportunity for local businesses to share what they’re doing now, and what they plan to do in future, in order to seize the opportunities provided by the new green economy.

As you might expect from a UCS event, this conference is using a fresh approach. Following a networking breakfast, local business leaders will give several short presentations before delegates are invited to participate in a professionally facilitated Open Space discussion.

The Conference is being held at Trinity Park, on the 2nd March 2012, from 7:00am to 12:00pm.

The event has been specifically planned with local businesses in mind. It will provide a privileged update on New Anglia’s Green Economy Pathfinder, which is working throughout Suffolk and Norfolk to identify and highlight examples of businesses contributing to the development of the green economy in our region. It will also give local businesses a chance to discuss their current approach to the green economy and how they intend to exploit future opportunities.

UCS is hosting this conference with support from several local business including Trinity Park, White Space Design, Archant Newspaper Group, Adnams, Anglian Water, Greta Irving and Advancing Sustainability.

Unlike regular conferences, this will be a facilitated Open Space event, which will enable delegates to voice their opinions in an informal environment within small groups sharing common interests. The Open Space format has been used by many leading organisations, such as Google, Microsoft and NASA, to achieve creative solutions to some of the world’s most challenging problems. The key messages that emerge from this conference will be passed back to the Green Economy Pathfinder Board to ensure that the voice of businesses in our region is heard and understood.
