UCS are inviting sixth formers and college students from across the region to drop-in for any last minute advice on applying to University through UCAS before the deadline closes on 15 January.

According to UCAS this week, there has been a late surge in university applications for the UK. It is thought that applicants were taking longer to research their choices but that the flow had speeded up.

UCS will have a team of experts on hand to provide advice and guidance on how to apply, student finance and writing personal statements throughout all of next week in the Infozone| at the UCS Waterfront Building in Ipswich- a dedicated point of information open to the general public looking for advice or support in the area of higher education.

Karen Hinton, UCS Student Recruitment and Marketing Manager, said: “We have been expecting students to take longer to make their choices this year due to the overhaul of the student finance system and we want to provide support to those who are now thinking about applying but are unsure of the choices open to them or are confused about the facts. We can support students with their applications in a variety of ways and offer impartial advice.”

UCS advisors will be available from Monday 9 January to Friday 13 January, 9am – 5pm, at the UCS Waterfront Building.
