Hundreds of local residents dropped in at the UCS and Leap| information lounge at this year's Suffolk Show to find out more about UCS courses|, student finance changes from 2012 and the Leap services available across the county.
The UK university tuition fee system to be imposed from 2012 has caused some confusion for those assessing their options regarding higher education. To combat misconceptions and to provide some clear facts about how the new system will work, UCS provided an information lounge for the community.
As well as inviting prospective students to talk, UCS also welcomed younger children to partake in a 'Student Finance: True or False' game with piggy bank prizes on offer.
UCS were also joined by Leap who provided information on the project which formed in 2007 by UCS, Suffolk Learning and Skills Council, East of England Development Agency to make access to education and skills as local as possible in response to the rural nature of Suffolk.
The Suffolk Show is the county’s biggest annual event, attracting an estimated 90,000 visitors over the two day event.
