A brand new café for staff and students at UCS has opened in Ipswich. The Café, called Room 1, is operated by Whitehouse Enterprises, supported by Suffolk County Council and has been established following requests from UCS staff and students for further dining facilities in the Arts Buildings of the Ipswich Campus.
Room 1 is run as a social enterprise café and offers employment opportunities to adults with disabilities and disadvantages. It operates as a not for profit organisation whilst functioning as a commercial concern.
Room 1 will be open five days a week offering sandwiches, baps, paninis, wraps, soup, breakfast snacks, jacket potatoes, salads and hot/cold beverages to name just some of the products. There is also a take away option on most products for those students who are always on the go. Room 1 will also able to provide in-house hospitality for meetings as well as having the capacity to cater for both large and small internal and external functions.
