Gill Thomas winner of the UCS 'Invitation 2009' Alumni Award will be presenting an exhibition of her paintings and drawings from 9 September until 26 September at the newly located Waterfront Gallery.
After training at Birmingham College of Art in the early 50’s, Gill worked initially in London as an illustrator in advertising and publishing. After bringing up her family and a lifetime of work in education, Gill was among the first cohort of students to graduate from UCS in 2008 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art /History and Theory of Visual Art.
Oil portraits have become the main focus of her recent work. She recently held a successful exhibition at the Peter Peers Gallery at Aldeburgh and is now represented by the Re + New gallery in Woodbridge.
The event will coincide with the launch of the new Waterfront Gallery and Student Union Café, Theta, located on the ground floor of the Waterfront Building in Ipswich.

Monday - Thursday: 9am - 7pm
Friday - Sunday: 10am - 8pm
