UCS Ipswich Open Event

Open Events are a great opportunity to find out more about the courses available across UCS, and to view the academic and social facilities. All UCS open events have academics available for one-to-one discussion, and some of the events will also include talks about specific subjects and support.

At each of our Open Events there will be information stands where visitors can find out more about student accommodation, student finance, student support and the admissions process.

The event will start at 4pm, with tours and informal discussion happening throughout the event. Academics representing all undergraduate and postgraduate degrees offered at UCS Ipswich will be available in the foyer of the UCS Waterfront Building for informal discussion. Complimentary refreshments will be available.

  • BA (Hons) Film taster session - The course team will be providing a taster session on screenwriting as part of this event. This taster session will start at 6pm, so if you would like to attend please arrive by 5.45pm in the Waterfront Building. This will enable you to be guided to the appropriate room by the Open Event Ambassadors. The content of the taster session will be on screenwriting format and the principles of dramatic storytelling.   • FdA Early Years Practice subject talk - The course team will be providing a subject specific talk about the Foundation degree in Early Years Practice as part of this event. The talk will start at 6pm, so if you would like to attend please arrive by 5.45pm in the Waterfront Building to be shown to the appropriate room by Open Event Ambassadors.   • FdA Early Years Practice subject talk - The course team will be providing a subject specific talk about the Foundation degree in Early Years Practice as part of this event.   • BSc (Hons) Midwifery subject talk - A midwifery lecturer will be available at 5pm to provide a subject specific talk on the midwifery course.  If you could like to attend please ensure that you arrive by 4.45pm so that you can be shown to the appropriate room.  For further information about the BSc (Hons) Midwifery course please visit the Midwifery course page.
  • 'Why Study Postgraduate?' - a member of the Student Support team will be available at 4.30pm to provide a talk on studying postgraduate courses and to give you information on the finance.

Clinical Skills: 5.00pm and 6.00pm
