Location: UCS Ipswich, James Hehir Building, Kai
Date: 7 May 2011
Time: 10.30am
The newest UCS venue Kai, based at the James Hehir Building| in Ipswich, will be resonating to the sound of laughter, barking and chatter as Ipswich dog owners, family and friends join together for a morning of fundraising fun. The Big Dogs Breakfast is a brand new fundraising idea to raise money for Dogs for the Disabled|, a charity that trains amazing assistance dogs to help children and adults with disabilities.
For a £4 donation anyone taking part in Big Dogs Breakfast will receive either, a sausage, bacon or vegetarian alternative breakfast roll and unlimited tea and coffee, entry into a special Dog Quiz and the chance to win fabulous prizes. There will be a raffle, face painting (with a doggy theme of course) and games to keep the children occupied.
Andy Lee and his assistance dog Henry will be making a visit to Ipswich allowing people to see first hand how these amazing dogs change lives. Andy, who was paralysed as a result of a mountain bike accident said: “It’s brilliant that the students (of UCS) are supporting Dogs for the Disabled, a charity that has changed my life and given me back my independence. Fundraising events like this enable the charity to reach more children and adults with disabilities. Henry and I can’t wait!”.
The event will have its own special twist on the traditional dog show. So for everyone that brings along their dog to the event, they can expect to take part in some fun-filled competitions with awards for the dog that looks most like its owner, dog with the waggiest tail, coolest canine and finest elder statesman.
The Big Dogs Breakfast promises good food, fun and an inspirational morning in a beautiful setting alongside the Ipswich Marina.
