This summer, BA (Hons) Fine Art students at University Campus Suffolk (UCS) will be showcasing their work as a culmination of their studies. Students will curate and present their work, produced during the final year of study at UCS, which will be on display within the Arts Building at the Ipswich Campus from the 8 June 2011.
To enable students to fund such an ambitious exhibition, they are hosting an Art Auction on the 30 March 2011. Amongst some of the works donated to date are works by London based artist Robert Pacitti – Olympiad Artist for the region; and a signed poster by internationally renowned photographer Martin Parr who recently gave a talk at UCS as part of the Arts and Humanities Lecture Series. There are also many interesting works by students from UCS as well as work donated by a number of other nationally and regionally eminent artists.
Fine Art student, Angela Dow-Wright, is part of the team organising the auction and exhibition. “We are pleased to present the Art Auction as a platform to promote and encourage support from UCS School of Arts and Humanities, and the wider community of Artists. The donations so far are encouraging and appreciated.”
“As a collective of Fine Art students, we are excited and looking forward to our Degree Show in June at UCS. Attendees from last years’ auction said they had a really enjoyable evening and came away with some real bargains and we hope to provide the same this year.”
This is the sixth year the auction has taken place and is once again open to the general public with viewings avaliable from 24 March.
